High-Speed Internet Connection - Donka's lab is in a technological black hole with regards to the Internet. Common fast and inexpensive Internet technologies such as ADSL and Cable Modem aren't available in our current location. Due to this for the last 8 years Donka has been getting by utilizing a Internet connection called IDSL that runs at 144Kbps. This is little over twice the speed of an old fashion 56K modem and is way under-powered for a organization our size. During that time the only technology that has been available to us is leased line technologies such as a T1. T1's are powerful lines that are 12X faster than what we currently have. The downside to a T1 is the monthly cost of this technology. Donka currently is forced to pay $150 per month for a IDSL circuit whereas a T1 can range from $550 - $800 per month. This is a steep price to pay for Internet access, but we have reached an impasse that forces us to seriously consider this purchase. We would love for an ANGEL to help underwrite the monthly fee of a T1 circuit purchase.
